Yakima is kind of lame

But! The Senate rock.

When TJ and I were planning this little mini-vacation, we never considered that Yakima just might not be that cool. So in absence of this thought, we decided to drive up the night before and spend the whole day in Yakima until the concert started at 9PM.

So we did a little researching online before we left. We found out there are tons of wineries in the area. For the average person, doing wine tastings would probably be an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. But for me, who is not so average and does not care for wine, was not super keen on this idea. I just didn't think I would appreciate it as much as the wine lovers and connoisseurs.

There were a few hiking trails outside of Yakima which sounded like a something we would like to do. But, realistically, neither of us have done any hiking so we just didn't have the gear we needed.

So pretty much we decided just to get there and then figure it out as we go. Not the smartest idea, but this was a learning experience. So what we eventually ended up doing was going to a movie, stopping by an arboretum, and chilling out at a little coffee shop until the concert started.

So overall, it was okay. We made the most of it despite our poor planning. The music was good and we're going to try and make it over to the Seattle area in the next couple of months to see them again.
